/ Oil & Gas / Monday, 13 July 2020 13:18

The petrochemical sector has been massively affected by the global pandemic. However, the future for petrochemicals is looking bright in the current time, flourishing with new deals and consolidations which show the potential for future growth.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) forecasts that the sector will account for half the growth in oil demand from 2019 to 2025. The sector has also seen the successful acquisition from SABIC by Saudi Aramco as well as new deals in Europe and projects with countries such as India. These trends point towards a diversification of the petrochemical market, proving the resilience of the industry.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been and will continue to be at the forefront of the global petrochemical sector, leading the economic recovery and providing opportunities for job creation and diversification.

The Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY), in collaboration with CWC (a brand of Global Future Energy Ltd) are launching the Global Petrochemical Digital Webinar: Looking at the Industry's Future taking place on 15 July 2020, sponsored by Sadara.  The event will facilitate the global virtual meeting between the petrochemical industry and the digital sector to find ways to discuss the impact and recovery from Covid-19, and identify global business opportunities in the sector.
