UAE’s ADNOC Gas has granted a substantial $3.6 billion contract to enhance its gas processing infrastructure, which involves the establishment of new processing facilities.

This contract has been assigned to a collaboration between the UAE's National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) and Tecnicas Reunidas, a notable Spanish contracting company.

The primary goal of this agreement is to create fresh gas processing facilities, ultimately enhancing the gas provision to the Ruwais Industrial Complex located in the western Al Dhafra region. Moreover, this initiative is aligned with a broader strategy aimed at augmenting gas extraction from existing fields and tapping into previously unexplored gas resources.

ADNOC Gas, renowned for possessing the world's seventh-largest gas reserves, operates as a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), a prominent state-owned energy corporation.

In a recent development, ADNOC revealed its heightened commitment to reducing emissions by advancing its carbon neutrality target to 2045, advancing it from the previous target of 2050.

The UAE, with its role as a worldwide oil exporter, is preparing to host the United Nations climate summit scheduled for November and December of 2023.

According to the BP Statistical Review of World Energy, the UAE produced approximately 57 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas in 2021, contributing about 1.4% of the worldwide gas output.
