EDF Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of EDF dedicated to renewable energies, announced its entry into the capital of EnterSolar, a US specialist in the supply of solar installations for businesses.

Through its US entity EDF Renewables North America, EDF Renewables and EnterSolar have entered into a “strategic partnership, whereby EDF Renewables will acquire a 50% interest in EnterSolar,” said the French group. However, the terms of the partnership were not disclosed

The partnership will allow both entities to capitalize on the strong and accelerating demand for distributed generation solutions from the corporate C&I sector.

More and more companies, especially in the United States, have decided to install solar panels on their buildings to produce their own power, at a competitive cost compared to that provided via the electricity grid.

In North America, EDF has developed a portfolio of projects with a capacity of 10 gigawatts (wind, solar, etc.) and also manages 10 gigawatts through operation/maintenance contracts.
