After a long wait, Lebanon finally saw the light again with its new-born government. A Cabinet of 30 ministers, drawn from most sides of the country's political spectrum, was finally announced: 30 ministries, 30 crucial roles to be played.

In the new structure, we can notice that four women have been assigned leading roles in the new ministries being formed. For the first time, a woman takes the Ministry of Energy and Water in hands. Nada Boustani Khouri, appointed as the new minster, pursued her high studies in Paris to work afterwards for 4 years in financial and practical strategies to restructure a number of international companies. In 2010, she returned to Lebanon and as assigned as advisor to the Ministry of Energy and Water. She coordinated the implementation of the Policy Paper for the Electricity Sector in Lebanon, but also other projects and issues related to the organizational structure of the Ministry of Energy and its institutions. The new minister holds a degree in economics from Saint Joseph University in Beirut and a postgraduate degree in management from the Paris Business School (ESCP Europe) as she is a coordinator of the Free Patriotic Movement’s Energy Advisory Committee since 2016.
