CEDRE Conference boosts confidence in Lebanon’s construction sector

The economy and Lebanon’s construction sector in specific is expected to see a major boost following the 2018 CEDRE donor conference which has resulted in $11.8 billion in pledges of financial assistance, out of which $11 billion are in soft loans. There were 51 countries represented at the conference in addition to international donor institutions.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development intends to invest at least $200 million in Lebanese equities, renewable energy, and water resources in 2019.

Billions of dollars are being invested in Lebanese projects such as Tripoli Special Economic Zone ($270 million), Khaldeh - Nahr Ibrahim Expressway ($2.86 billion), Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport expansion ($500 million), Rene Mouawad Airport rehabilitation and expansion ($100 million) and many more.

Project Lebanon: Bridging Regional Markets

In its 2018 edition, 400 exhibitors from 17 countries participated at Project Lebanon. The exhibitors showcased products and solutions from the stone, building materials & equipment, power and electrical energy, interiors & finishing materials, HVAC, lighting, and PMV sectors.
